A tile size for smaller rooms
Luxxe is a marble-inspired stone look in 12 x 24 inch tiles, with a TumbledEdge bevel shaped like the softened edge of tumbled stone. The smaller tile keeps its scale in a powder room, laundry room or back entry, where an 18 x 36 inch tile would be mostly cut pieces. Mannington draws 12 unique tile visuals at medium variation. Caviar is the warm tan and brown color; Pearl is pale and cool.
Same core as the planks
Under the surface is the 8 mm waterproof HydroLoc WPC core with a pad attached, so the tile floats without mortar and stays warmer underfoot than porcelain. The 20 mil aluminum oxide wear layer carries a lifetime residential and 10-year light commercial warranty, and the tiles are steam mop approved.
Being straight about materials
Luxxe is luxury vinyl and contains PVC. It is FloorScore certified for indoor emissions, made in Vietnam, and Mannington's sheet lists no recycled content. Mannington makes no fade and stain resistance claim for Luxxe, so for a very sunny room we would point you to Rapolano instead. Stone looks without PVC are on the PVC-free flooring page.
Pairing with the hexagon
Luxxe Hexagon uses the same stone design as a 5 mm glue-down tile. Pairing the two, say hexagons in a powder room and rectangles in the hall, needs a transition at the doorway because the thicknesses differ. We plan that at the measurement visit; see waterproof flooring installation.
Common questions
Is Luxxe waterproof?
Yes. The HydroLoc WPC core is waterproof. The seams of any floating floor are not sealed, so standing water should be wiped up, and full bathrooms get a sealed perimeter.
Which rooms suit 12 x 24 inch tiles?
Smaller rooms such as powder rooms, laundry rooms and back entries, where larger tiles would be mostly cut pieces. Large open rooms often look calmer in 18 x 36 inch tiles such as Rapolano.
