Three species, one floor
Anthology blends oak, hickory and maple into a single laminate pattern, so the grain and color shift from board to board instead of repeating one species. Mannington draws 20 unique plank visuals, which keeps a large room from showing an obvious repeat, with the texture embossed in register and a low lustre finish. The colors are Parchment, the palest, plus Tannin, Suede, Quill and Ink.
What laminate is made of
Laminate is not vinyl. Anthology is a 12 mm plank built on HDF, a dense board pressed from wood fiber, with the printed decor under an aluminum oxide wear layer and ScratchResist. Mannington states that its laminate floors are made with over 70% post-industrial recycled content, and the collection is FloorScore certified for indoor emissions and NALFA certified. The planks are made in Vietnam.
What the waterproof rating covers
Mannington rates Anthology waterproof with its SpillShield Plus technology, which is why it can go into kitchens and laundry rooms. The core is still wood fiber rather than a waterproof core, so wipe up standing water and follow Mannington's warranty terms. Is Mannington Anthology laminate waterproof?
Mannington rates it waterproof with SpillShield Plus. The core is HDF made from wood fiber, so standing water should be wiped up, and a room at risk of flooding is better served by a waterproof core.
Does Anthology contain PVC?
Laminate is not a vinyl floor. Anthology is built on an HDF wood fiber core with a printed decor and an aluminum oxide wear layer. Mannington does not market it as PVC-free, so we list its composition instead of a PVC-free label.
