Stone-look hexagons in two colors
Luxxe Hexagon cuts the stone design of Luxxe into an 11.8 x 13.6 inch hexagon with a beveled edge. Caviar is the warm tan and brown color, Pearl the pale cream. Mannington draws 28 unique tile visuals and packs 28 tiles to a carton, which keeps a small floor from showing a repeat.
How it is built and installed
Like Artemis Hexagon, this is a 5 mm flexible LVT with no attached pad, glued to a smooth subfloor. That makes it thinner and firmer underfoot than the 8 mm WPC tiles. It is waterproof, with a 20 mil aluminum oxide wear layer, and it is not approved for steam mops.
Being straight about materials
Luxxe Hexagon is vinyl and contains PVC. It is FloorScore certified for indoor emissions, made in Vietnam, and Mannington's sheet lists no recycled content. For a PVC-free floor in a small bathroom, Marmoleum Cinch Loc Seal squares put natural linoleum on a waterproof core.
Where it fits
Mudroom entries, powder rooms and bathroom floors. In older houses, where a new floor has to meet existing tile or hardwood at a doorway, a thin glued tile avoids a tall threshold. See subfloor preparation and waterproof flooring installation.
Common questions
Can Luxxe Hexagon sit next to Luxxe tiles?
Yes, with a transition. The hexagon is 5 mm and glued down; the 12 x 24 inch Luxxe tile is 8 mm and floats. We place the change at a doorway with a trim piece.
