The long plank in the collection
Atlas is the newest pattern in Mannington's Restoration Collection. Its 7 2/3 x 59 1/2 inch plank is a foot longer than the collection's 47 1/2 inch boards, so a hallway or an open main level takes fewer end joints. The decor is hickory, embossed in register, with a SculptedEdge bevel that gives each plank a defined edge, and Mannington draws 18 unique plank visuals at medium variation.
Five colors, one build
Horizon and Trail are the lighter honey tones, Canyon and Summit sit in the middle, and Mountain Peak is the deepest brown of the five. All five share the same 12 mm construction, so the choice comes down to color and the light in your room.
Being straight about materials
Atlas is laminate, not vinyl: a 12 mm plank on an HDF core pressed from wood fiber, under an aluminum oxide wear layer with ScratchResist. Mannington's product sheet lists recycled content, and the collection is FloorScore certified for indoor emissions. Mannington rates it waterproof with SpillShield Plus, but the core is still wood fiber, so standing water should be wiped up. Mannington makes no fade and stain resistance claim for Atlas.
Installation
A five-foot board bridges low spots that a short board would follow, so the subfloor has to be flat before Atlas goes down, and we check and correct it first; see subfloor preparation. The floor floats with no glue. If your rooms are small or broken up, compare the shorter planks of Haven.
